About the role

We are looking for a proactive and versatile HR professional to take ownership of key areas such as recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and payroll. This role plays a central part in shaping a seamless employee experience, from the first interaction with candidates through to long-term retention, while ensuring accuracy and compliance across payroll processes.

You will be closely involved in the day-to-day employee lifecycle, working directly with team members across the organisation. We’re looking for someone who brings empathy into every interaction, while remaining solution-oriented and focused on delivering results.

If you are a friendly, self-driven team player with strong interpersonal skills and a hands-on mindset, this could be a great fit for you.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with solid analytical capabilities, particularly when it comes to payroll.

What you’ll be doing

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from job postings and sourcing to interviewing and hiring

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand team needs and craft effective job descriptions

  • Conduct pre-employment checks where relevant

  • Ensure a smooth and engaging onboarding experience for all new hires

Employee Engagement

  • Help build and implement initiatives that foster a positive and engaging work environment

  • Act as a trusted point of contact for employee queries, ensuring timely and thoughtful resolution

  • Create and manage internal communications across different channels

Payroll Administration

  • Support accurate and timely payroll processing in collaboration with external providers

  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with local labour laws and tax regulations

  • Handle payroll-related queries and resolve discrepancies

  • Assist with audits related to payroll and HR documentation

General HR Responsibilities

  • Keep employee records up to date in HR systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality

  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies

  • Support performance management processes, including review cycles and feedback

  • Contribute to broader People Team initiatives and projects

What we’re looking for

  • 2–3 years of experience in a similar HR role, covering recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and payroll

  • Solid understanding of HR practices and labour laws

  • Experience with HRIS and payroll tools (e.g. Factorial)

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

  • Fluency in English and native Portuguese; additional European languages are a plus

You are someone who:

  • Communicates clearly and collaborates easily with different stakeholders

  • Works autonomously and takes ownership of projects end-to-end

  • Has a proactive, “let’s get things done” mindset and looks for continuous improvement

  • Is organised, creative, and manages time effectively

  • Is eager to learn and motivated to help build a strong, impactful team

  • Understands the importance of confidentiality and knows when to escalate

  • Has strong analytical and numerical skills

  • Is comfortable working with spreadsheets and digital tools (Google Docs, Sheets, Presentations)

  • Experience designing and implementing employee engagement initiatives
